I can't even begin to express how THRILLED I am that I finally got clearance for my new medicine that I was in limbo for up until this morning! This week has had a lot of ups and downs but today definitely feels like a fresh start. Last night was wonderful also--we had some good friends over for homemade lobster rolls! My husband really nailed the recipe and they were great, very doable at home for so much less money than that Cousin's Lobster Truck that cruises around town! Here is the actual breakdown: $16.50 for one lobster roll from the food truck. 2lbs of already pulled and chopped lobster (frozen) from Costco: $26.50. That fed all 4 of us with enough meat leftover for at least 3-4 lobster rolls for next batch. That brings the per person to about: $4 per lobster roll for the meat. The buns were pretty cheap, celery and mayo were already on hand. Again, don't think lobster NEEDS to break the bank! It would be great for July 4th too! We definitely felt boujier tha

I'm not feeling great again today (or still, I guess). My hair is frizzy and my hope is hanging on and pushing me through the week.  I also had a really nice lunch with a good friend that inspired me to dress cute and debut (on the blog, I've worn it a couple times already) my new crisp white skirt from the Anthropologie summer sale. I'm obsessed with it. It is just very slightly big in the waist so I happily decided to take a white velvet shoelace I never got around to using for anything and am using it as the perfect tie waist belt to keep it at the right place on my waist! (easiest DIY ever). I've always thought of purple as a power color and I love it--it is my husband's favorite color. I also love the Prince song 'Purple Rain.' It's far from raining and I'm pretty much feeling half dead from eating lunch outside in the 105 degree 'shade' (the restaurant was SO crowded)...but I'm chugging on water right now and have just caught

feeling blue.

I've been through a complete roller coaster of emotions today and I don't even want to get into it (I'll save it for my journals) but basically I will just leave it at expressing how VERY DIFFICULT it is to work with medical red tape, insurance companies, big pharm biz,  and the overwhelming desire to just be able to start my family journey (being a mom) with a chronic and very difficult disease. So blue was a fitting color to wear today. Granted, I am not faking it for the camera--my best friend truly cheered me up a ton and even brought me green tea ice cream that I was craving for like four days. I also am somewhat looking forward to the new season of Big Brother (it's a nice distraction) and I've been reading the Black Dog Bay novel series which is SO perfect for summer and giving me a good chuckle and swoon (I love romance, dogs, and stories where the town has as much character as the cast)! Hair style inspired by Eureka's Castle and also by the

I've definitely had a rough start to the week...I'm still in limbo waiting for my new meds to be approved and be able to schedule them and last night, my father-in-law ended up back in the hospital. We will hopefully find out more soon and wish him a speedy recovery.  I didn't notice until this picture that the soles are slightly separating from the wood on one shoe but that is an easy fix with some wood glue if you ever have that happen to your clogs!  Anyone else a total sucker for a dress with POCKETS? Yeah, it's always so exciting to find one! I'm wearing : top-tjmaxx, dress-thrifted, bag-kate spade (marshall's), clogs-Swedish Hasbeens, sunglasses-anthroplogie, choker-thrifted  My purple heart clogs are from 2015! This summer marks my 4 year clog-iversary since I started collecting clogs! I got these on amazon on clearance for I want to say $60 or so and they will always be very special to me. I love that they reissued this st

We tried a new (for us) brunch spot with my husband's cousin and her husband and it was SOOOO much fun! (and very tasty!) I wore my new favorite 2019 outfit and I feel good! I'm hopeful that tomorrow, when I call my doc that I will get more info about my new meds. I may not have eaten a donut but I did eat a cinnamon bun (brioche!) and it tasted like a donut's cousin or maybe even half sibling so I was very pleased with it! Yum!  I'm wearing : donut shirt-tjmaxx, bag-kate spade (marshall's), pencil skirt-anthropologie, sunglasses-balenciaga (thrifted), clogs-sven (buy HERE )  Did you have a nice weekend? xx

It's Saturday! I do love the weekends typically! This week has been really hard symptom-wise (still not on my new meds) and emotionally (waiting on said paperwork to go through for new meds) I am really, really, really hoping for answers and better health asap. I'm going to call my doc again on Monday and try to focus on: 1. dressing like a Swedish Flag 2. playing around with my convertible dress that I'm wearing (so many options!) 3. enjoying a night out with friends playing board games later 4. treating myself kindly 5. looking forward to yuppie style urban Brunch outing with my husband's cousin and her husband tomorrow!  JUST ME & MY TOMATOES! I'm wearing: dress-Elan (poshmark), clogs-Swedish Hasbeens (eBay), bag-Coach (outlet), Sunglasses-Balenciaga (thrifted)  I got so many sweet compliments on my bright yellow clogs when I was out and about at lunch and windowshopping while my hubby played the new Harry Potter game with his brother
