ending May with some looks.

Here was my outfit to see (a niche) Adult Puppet Show parody of the 80s movie 'Alien.' You probably know that I love a theme, so I took some eighties inspo for my big-shoulder-pad-focused outfit for the night out downtown Phoenix.  I wore: vintage hat, thrifted dress, secondhand coach x pacman bag (mercari), gifted sven clogs (laser leather), old pac sun glasses Here was a basic brunch outfit and what felt like but maybe wasn't (?) my first time wearing a band tee under overalls. It was something I saw others do a lot, but I haven't actually done it myself, at least, not any time recently or in my ootd blogging archives... I would do it again! It was easy and fun. A bit hippie but in a good way, I think. Sublime tee from my mom and overall dress is vintage, from Poshmark. These Sven Clogs were gifted and are a Summer 2023 style that is a great dupe for Birkenstock but in my opinion WAY more comfortable and versatile.  Here I am in another pair of gifted Sven Clogs, the

fit to be tie-dyed.

Tie-Dye...it's one of those things that is often in fashion flux, but it will always have a place in my heart and closet. Not only did I go to a very hippie college, but I also was an Arts & Crafts camp counselor for quite a few summers in high school, so tie-dye was a big part of my teen years and gives me warm fuzzy feelings. Even if tie dye comes out 'bad' it's still good and you can still go in with more dye. Sometimes I thrift dirty/dingy white things intentionally to keep in a tie-dye pile for home crafting. Another Arizona benefit...tie-dying in the summer here means super-quick-dry results! This dress came tie-dyed and probably a lot prettier than I could've done myself. The sorbet-like pastels are really satisfying and go with a ton of my accessories (as you can see) and really helped set of my current shoe-obsession: these custom flower sandals by Tessa Clogs. They feel super made-for-my-feet and I love them so much. They are true Happy Shoes. I'm

flower girl.

After about a year and a half, or maybe even 2 years--of seriously desiring this denim heart style skirt by Lazy Oaf on Depop, I finally pulled the trigger and made an offer (the seller originally wanted over a hundred dollars, which I could simply not justify, especially for rigid denim and not being able to try it on first...) and thank GOSH it fits exactly the way I'd hoped--just a bit of wiggle room in the waist for a belt or a bit of bloating and does not pucker around my curves either, which is so refreshing. I love the two side slits too, it makes this medium-weight denim wearable in the desert all year round! Since I've gotten it, I've been reaching for it A LOT. I feel like I wear a denim skirt at least 2 or 3 days a week! It's kind of my uniform right now. I'm wearing : gifted sven clogs (pixel leather), lazy oaf skirt, diesel top from eBay, eBay beret, stella mccartney thrifted sunglasses, kate spade bag from poshmark I wore this look to the dentist, agai

renn faire on top, keeping it casual on the bottom.

I'm mixing it up by being renn faire-esque on top and super casual jeans and clogs on the bottom. I'm wearing: thrifted top, corset from tj maxx, goose belt from poshmark, bag from the real real (gift), jeans are thrifted from free people originally.  I've had quite a motley collection of belts over the years (and a few older and more fragile pieces have broken) but this one is hardy and a lot of fun to spice up an otherwise simple look. What do you think? How would you wear a goose belt? xx
