second time in Spain!
the food on the way home...airplane food has gotta be my least favorite thing other than fast food, but not by much. I always try to bring as many of my own things as possible when traveling.
It was my first time taking Air France! The direct flight to Paris was lovely. I'm looking forward to taking it again for my brother's wedding in January. This is a really big travel year for us.
We both got the flu in Spain and I felt determined to find the Spanish equivalent of lemon loaf. They did have an orange pound cake that was really tasty at the bakery above. I brought some with me on the plane as well!
We had burgers and fries at a very American-style restaurant on our last night. We knew we didn't want anything daring or adventurous food-wise before a full day of traveling back home.
How beautiful was the Malaga coast at sunset?
It sure was a pretty location to be in for my husband's work trip! We made the most of it, even thoguh we got sick the last few days there.
We tried to get our steps in and did plenty of walking and exploring once we settled into Malaga.
The shops were really cute and had a lot of charm. My husband found a really cool antique souvenir for his mom at the store above.
I got a pistachio brownie to-go since I was too full to eat it after the meal below.
The hotel breakfasts were so good. The fresh fruit was delicious.
We quickly got hooked on these giant cookeis! The cheesecake was very popular, but I have trouble with cheesecake so I skipped it this trip.
We loved the new-to-the-area Ramen Shop (above) so much that we went twice during the trip!
Another gorgeous view of Spain (above) and below, the really cute entrance of the boutique hotel my husband found. We stayed here when his conference was over.
Is it bad that my favorite meal in Spain was chicken finger burger (that's what they call it)? It was seriously so good that I had it twice, and my husband really liked it too!
Love bringing this anthro trenchcoat on vacation and feeling instantly stylish! These flower doc marten boots always do me right too. I can walk miles in them!
Our friends really wanted to go to an Italian place before they headed home, so we got pizza and risotto and tiramisu--of course!
A little brownie sundae and espresso break with my new friend!
She took this pic of me (above) when we were exploring places near the hotel and doing a little shopping and stocking up on snacks.
The hotel food was just ok. Above, this was one of the last things we were able to get during the flood alert/emergency protocol. It was a little scary being in Malaga during the natural disaster, but I felt like we were safe and taken care of properly. The hardest thing was the kitchen closing and meeting rooms and first floor needing to move until the flooding went down. We were lucky that nothing bad happened to us or that the trip wasn't canceled or anything! I think it also must be scary to be at airports or traveling in such stormy weather.
This was my day 2 look in Spain, wearing a thrifted velvet dress with my docs and a Patricia Nash backpack I found on Mercari for the trip.
We had time to get a yummy Asian meal at the airport during our layover before Malaga.
Have you ever been to Spain? I would go back, but it also wasn't one of my favorite places I've been. I'm glad I got to go! xx
