June's end.

This Summer feels nice and busy, birthdays, events, friendship, adventures. I'm very grateful.

We went to visit my mother-in-law and my favorite dog besides Axel, his nephew Yeti! Just look at that derpy tongue face (above). I love these boys so much!

Feeling a little yeehaw (above) and what to wear to continue to narrow down my choices for new glasses (below).

Here's the top 3 choices (above) vote below to guess which ones I will pick...
I like the remix of this top with this skirt! Bringing out the red of the cherries.
I can't believe they had an Emperor's New Groove tee at Plato's Closet (above). It's gotta be one of the most underrated Disney movies ever.  Have you seen it?

Above, Taco night at home! Below, is it even Summer if I'm not prancing around in a gauzy, breezy white dress and cowboy boots?

I'm not sure how to style this patchwork denim skirt I found on amazon clearance by Blank NYC. It's so cute but I'm scratching my head over how to put it in an outfit!

Below, I DID figure out how to layer and play with the straps on the dress so it's not as boob-y. I like it much better this way. I also find, as a larger-chested girly that halter tops KILL my neck. The struggle of women's fashion definitely continues. I completely gave up on halter bikinis about 3 or 4 years ago because of the discomfort. I also found that my long hair gets stuck/tangled in halter neck knots as well.

Banana bread pudding AND peanutbutter thumbprint cookies??? Say less. When I want to bake for company, I go all out! I also enjoy the fruits of my labor (above). I will say, my secret bread pudding tip is to USE HOTDOG ROLLS> I don't know the science behind it, but they simply make the best bread pudding throughout my trials and tribulations.

Above, I hate how big the slit is in this TopShop skirt, but I think it's ok for Summer. I styled it with this blue top for a matchy look. I will probably have it FOR SALE once it cools off again in Arizona.
Above, I made my first carrot cake cookies! All the grating is super labor-intensive, but worth it. They are like boosted up oatmeal cookies with that fresh carrot flavor and a hint of nutmeg too.
Chicken Cutlets > Chicken Parm, I will fight anyone on this.
Some summer looks above and below with things in my closet. Above was my first time layering this short denim skirt with another skirt for a bit more coverage.

Above, still experimenting to find the Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie. My husband likes the ones with the crispy edges the most....

Above, happy boy at dinner on the patio.
I am SO GUTTED that one of my coolest 80's pirate-worthy belts busted. It just rusted out, I think? I don't even know how to fix this or who to go to. A cobbler? a welder that does custom jewelry? I'm pretty sure it would cost more to fix than it cost to thrift this so maybe I should cut my losses?

Some birthday celebrations that included an ice cream cake! (above)
Reading with Axel always makes me feel relaxed and excited to escape into fictional worlds.

Below: tried a new-to-us pizza place and it was NOT GOOD. The dessert had the grossest cherry fake-tasting sauce that it was drenched in, and the pizza was COLD. The manager insisted it had to be 'room temperature' for the chilled burrata cheese, but the whole pizza was cold to the point that it felt like it was sitting out in the window for at least fifteen minutes after it came out of the oven... would never go back here. xx
