clog diaries *update*

I'm the kind of person that likes to exchange shoes that aren't comfortable or the right style for what I'm looking for (I buy almost all my shoes online) for ones that I know are right and styles I admire but don't want to spend full price on. It is kind of a fun 'hunt' to find certain clog styles and colors that are rare or 'limited edition'). Without further ado...here are my latest prized clogs:
The Spring 2019 Collection:
I like to keep my clogs on display and this 3 tier shoe rack does the job nicely! Usually, when I'm planning an outfit, the shoes are my initial inspiration.
Meet my clogs! Starting with my newest, green pair and going clockwise!

1. Eric Michael, 'Nova'-- retail price $200, bought for $32 (eBay). These are in need of an easy repair. The fabric got disconnected from a few loose nails on the right shoe so I plan on bringing them to my cobbler next week and getting them back into tip-top shape! They are so pretty and I'm crazy about the beautiful green color. They look a lot like Swedish Hasbeens but have round nail heads visible on the sides rather than staples. You can buy a new pair HERE
2. Sandgrens, 'Milan High'-- retail price $350 (they would need to be custom ordered since the company stopped making the style with the high heel base. Bought for $45 (poshmark). This was a bit of a gamble since they were a sz 40 and I'm usually a 39 but the gamble paid off and they fit GREAT and also have a bit of room to wear thick socks or sweater tights during colder weather. I really love these.
3. Swedish Hasbeens, 'heart high'--retail price $250 bought for $65 (poshmark). These are such a stunning turquoise color! I used to have them in a beautiful lavender color (they were actually my first ever clogs I bought) but I stupidly didn't realize how easy it would be to buy some leather paint from amazon and fix up the fading but I definitely learned from my past and wouldn't sell a beloved pair of leather shoes just for color fading or warping ever again!
4. Swedish Hasbeens, 'antique high' sandal--retail price $250 bought for $76 (poshmark). These are so retro and ladylike. They really make me feel dressed up and fancy when I wear them to work. I had the flats version previously and I much prefer the high heel, very similar to the 'gypsy' style and this style in my experience does run small! I'm usually a 39 and I take a 38 in these. I wear these SECOND MOST of my clogs.
5. Lotta From Stockholm, t-bar highwood in red leather--retail price $85 bought for $60 (eBay) these are my MOST worn clogs out of all my clogs. They had no break in time whatsoever (I bought them new in box) and are just so high quality and such a walkable heel height! Love them and recommend them for anyone, especially new cloggers since the pricepoint is a lot lower than other clogs but the quality is definitely here! They run small!
6. Swedish Hasbeens, 'gypsy dancing shoe' in antique gold-- retail price $250, bought $75. I had these a while ago and custom painted them but I always preferred the antique gold and the silver but never saw them for sale until I found these on eBay, new in their box! These run big and I'm a 38 in them (I'm usually a 39). These are my LEAST worn but probably because I bought these in the Fall and it's been too cold for such strappy sandals but I'm hoping to wear these a lot this summer. I really like these for formal occasions like weddings, parties, and work/staff photos (they give me a little height boost and make my legs look nice!
7. Free People, 'Darcy' in black suede--made in Spain--retail $210, bought for $50 (eBay). Now I know my experience in the past with Free People shoes has been bad. The fit is never right in my experience and this was kind of a fluke. I saw them, I drooled, I researched the quality, price, and real people wearing them (were there any?) and decided to take the gamble, it was such a reasonable price for beautiful suede shoes made in Spain (notoriously good quality shoes). So I do love them. I always get compliments whenever I wear them but they are definitely very narrow (the pointed toe doesn't help) and the strings are actually pretty tight suede (they are adjustable but I still find they are gradually getting 'broken in over time') I am partially tempted to just get the strings replaced with elsastic because that would be SO much more comfortable but I've decided to just wear them and continue to try to break in and soften the leather. They are definitely show pieces. They are not very comfortable to wear for more than 7 or 8 hours and I wouldn't recommend walking long distances in them. I could see them being more comfortable if you sized up in the clogs or if you used a professional shoe stretcher or had more patience and energy to make them work better for you than me personally! Bottom line is they are so beautiful and not uncomfortable to the point of wanting to get rid of them...THIRD MOST WORN of my clogs, everybody loves them. How can you not? They remind me of the Vivienne Westwood rocking horse shoes but only have a 2' heel which is so practical. I'm a 39 but a 40 would probably have given me less of a cramped toe box...you can get them on Poshmark for $50 like I did here if you are a 37!
8. Sven, 'bow tie clogs medium in pink smooth leather'--retail $239, bought for $150 (bought from Sven website during a Labor Day sale and with a promotional coupon) These are aesthetically one of my favorite pairs of shoes ever. FOURTH MOST WORN (now that it is Spring, I will wear them way more--my mom says the color is very 'Easter'). If you have the extra money I 100% recommending splurging on a pair of Svens at some point in your life or even browsing the Closeout Sale clogs. They feel like they were made for me (because they were) and the custom color and materials make ordering your shoes even more of a fun and exciting experience. If I was rich or won a lottery I would definitely have the Bow Tie Clogs in at least four or five different colors and combinations (closed toe, heel height).
9, Maguba, 'rio in rosegold on brown base'--retail $139, bought for $60 (eBay). These are one of my favorite color shoes I've ever owned. The Rosegold leather is so beautiful and I love the different shade from different lighting. It is since it is metallic a lot more scratch-able so I have invested in a metallic rose gold acrylic leather paint from amazon that keeps them beautiful and like new. They are actually kind of a neutral and match a lot of my outfits. I know I'll be wearing them a ton this Spring and Summer!
10. Maguba 'rio in mustard on brown base'--retail $139, bought for $50 (poshmark). Again these are the second pair of clogs I have in the exact same style in different colors which shows how much I love them! They are beautiful and I'm so into yellow this year that they go with at TON of my closet. I'm a true 38 in Magubas their sizing for 38 is 8 - 8.5!
11. Lotta from Stockholm 'high wood t-bar in navy with silver'--retail $85, bought for $50 (poshmark). These are a discontinued color way that is hard to find but I always was attracted to. They were my first pair of my Lottas and were pretty beat up when I got them but I cleaned them up and they are pretty solid now! One of my regular every week shoes, especially in the fall and winter since they are close toed. Again, this style definitely runs on the smaller side!
12. Swedish Hasbeens 'Lacy'--retail $209, bought $68 (poshmark). These have JUST been re-released in this color way! The double burgundy is so beautiful and easy to wear all year round. I do wear these but I just don't wear them as much as my others. They are definitely really pretty, comfortable, and feminine. Look great with socks and tights too!
13. Troentorp 'Nelly'--retail $106, bought $60 (poshmark). These are a classic comfort brand. I used to have them in bright green and I wore them until they literally ripped apart and the leather broke down (but they were also vintage bought on etsy so they were pretty old when I became the new owner). I'm excited to have this style back in my collection. They are truly one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn and the leather is so soft and giving. I love the cutouts because again, they are great for all seasons!

Please let me know what kind of shoes you spend your money on and where do you buy them?
