matchy mustard.

Image
My husband is the supreme monochrome-look wearer in my household but every once in a while, I enjoy being super matchy too! Today was one of those days when I decided to go very mustard but break it up with my blue starry overalls and new red purse. To me, this is the perfect Sunday outfit, a little snazzy but comfortable and good for a bit of driving around the valley and hopefully, visiting our favorite lunch spot while spending some quality time with my in-laws!  I found these mustard Maguba Rios on Poshmark for the crazy deal price of $55 and couldn't pass them up. I have the same pair in rose gold and they are definitely one of my favorite clog silhouettes. I'm just wild about the art deco style side swoops and loops and I love the cut outs on the vamp. They are really flattering!  My tee was the only souvenir I bought myself from our Europe Spring trip, it has little origami animals all over and is the perfect length (not too long, not cropped). Obvio...

pizza cowboy cat goes thrifting.

This cowboy-hat-wearing-cat-riding-on-a-pizza-in-outer-space t-shirt is one of my proudest Savers' finds because it was only $2 and is such a great conversation starter. I think it might be one of the best weekend-wear shirts I currently own. I wore it today with my Zara glitter stripe jeans for a twist on casual wear and tested out my new (from Poshmark ) Troentorp Nelly clogs (I've been hunting for these for years, they are SUCH a cute style and super comfy and retro) for a day of brunching and thrifting. Urban Exchange is definitely very different than Savers and Goodwill and even Turnstyle in that the items there are handpicked (kind of like Buffalo Exchange) and are priced more to what I myself would sell them for on Poshmark so the items are NOT great for reselling but they ARE great for self-shopping! It was the perfect opportunity to get a few fresh Spring Updates for my wardrobe. I ended up buying: 2 Free People spring styled tops, one red grommet rayon tee (NWT)...

pink & green like a watermelon.

Being in Europe for nearly two weeks (not sure if getting there counts as being there since it was a lot of planes, trains, and boats) definitely made it harder to come back to work and normal life but I decided to fully embrace Spring and have been dressing in more fun and Spring-y combinations lately. This is my look of the day which forced me to be a tiny bit extra creative since I was way too jetlagged to do laundry still. I don't wear these Gap pants very often because I have mixed feelings about drawstring waists (I prefer using belts) and I'm not sure if they fit me right, I'm not used to the Chino, not skinny leg style but I was pretty comfy and felt like my bomber jacket picked up on the black accents in the pants and made the look almost athleisure-y (which is not my style typically at all) and I liked it!  Frog squatting is me all day at work teaching. It's not the prettiest but it is an accurate pose for me! I just love these Sven bow knot clogs. If t...

star studded.

Image
The sun definitely hit my head at a weird angle in my photos from my Saturday outfit but I didn't feel like retaking everything since I still love all the outfit details you can clearly see. This is the official debut (on my blog) of my newly acquired vintage Wilson's star studded leather jacket in my first ever outfit with it! I have been dreaming of having a star studded leather (or suede) jacket literally since I outgrew my favorite coat ever in 2nd grade that was suede and painted with beautiful gold stars with a black shearling hood that unzipped to lay flat--it was amazing, I wish I had pics of it! Anyway, this jacket was just dreamy and unique in a world of much smaller studded star jackets. Plus I love that the sleeves have zips, the back has adjustable waist tightening snaps and it literally came to me looking, feeling, and smelling completely new and unused. It was truly a fantastic find at $50, so I didn't want to wait for the seller to get back to me on measur...

dressy denim.

I don't think wearing my denim jacket half off makes me look cool but honestly, it was too windy/chilly for me to justify taking it off all the way for pictures today! I'm wearing one of my favorite vintage embroidered shirts that looks like a corset and always makes me feel flattered so it seemed like a good day to wear it since I had a high pressure meeting this morning! Everything went as well as it could have and I'm just grateful to be done with two major work meetings in one busy week! It means I will have some freedom and time to focus on packing and Europe outfit-planning. I'm also doing way more socializing than I've done in a while (since we will be out of the country for almost two weeks) so I'm sure that my Libra-self will just love spending so much extra time with loved ones! Looking forward to it! What are your plans?  I'm wearing: jacket- lovetree, top-vintage, skirt-poshmark, tights-target, clogs-swedish hasbeens 'antique sandal...

rosy weekend ahead.

Image
This has truly been a tough, long, week. Somebody on my team has just quit at work so that was sudden and unexpected--I am always of the mind that I support everyone that focuses on their own health and family needs first because I would want and expect the same from my team members and collegues. It will definitely be a bit of a hurdle and sprint to the finish to get through the school year with a short staff but I am hopeful for the best. I am also more thankful than ever for my upcoming trip to Europe next Wednesday! As much as I love being a teacher, this year has been especially challenging and my caseload was higher than it has ever been...all the more reason to savor and enjoy every minute of weekending & refreshing myself, even if it is just stopping and taking a few deep breaths, going to the gym, doing some writing, or taking a nice bubble bath! For me, the weekends are all about unplugging from work stress and giving back to yourself and your loved ones! How abou...
