styled around my army coat.

Image
I got this coat years ago on Poshmark, and loved it so much that I bought a second one in pastel pink. Sometimes I consider dying the pale pink one with some rit dye a more funky color but it's fine as is for now. I wear the olive one much more, for obvious reasons! This is already my 3rd look on the blog and 2 week wearing my new Coach bag and I really love it! The color is just SO pretty. It was in not-so-great shape when I bought it but I put it by itself in my washing machine on a delicate cycle, let it air dry, and it doesn't look NEW by any means, but it looks and smells MUCH better than it was at first! I'm wearing: poshmark jacket, thrifted tee, jeans and bag, poshmark moschino sunglasses, gifted sven clog shearling boots Here's a little peek at a bag collection update: I just recieved my newest Ted Baker leather star crossbody from Mercari (she offered me only $50, which was such a great price, less than half of the orig price!). I was hoping it would be the r...

dressing like a blue fairy for pre-Spring.

Image
I can't believe we are sailing through March! Here's a light blue monochrome look that I'm really happy with...I didn't think of it until after I took the photos, but doesn't it have a kind of (Pinocchio's) Blue Fairy vibe to it? I'm wearing: thrifted coach bag, dress and belt, hat from f21, sven clogs from poshmark Here's the blue fairy (above), I just need wings, right?  I'm really pleased too with how nicely this new (to me) vintage coach bag meshes with my wardrobe! I'm still on the fence about considering adding a new kate spade heart shaped bag to my purse collection but I'm thinking that I'm goign to wait on it until the price (secondhand) goes really low. It's still around 145 to $200 on average now for those heart bags by Kate Spade on the secondhand market. I also have the option of getting the chocolate-dipped strawberry Kate Spade that I had my eye on for at least four years now. It's definitely good practice to wait u...

sales + a casual Friday ootd.

Image
These two sales are not really something I'm about to brag about, they were low cost and low priced sales, but I'm still grateful because they are bringing me closer to my goals and dreams. I want to cut back and scale down my resale to maybe 100 items, 200 max. I'm still at 330 right now but I've cut back a lot just in the past year alone,. I'm no longer 'hauling' stuff to sell from thrift shops and spending tons of money and time actively 'hunting' and constantly listing from 'death piles' (tons of items ready to be researched, measured, photographed, modeled, ect. ect) becaue that simply doesn't bring me joy or fulfillment anymore. I'm not knocking anyone that does it! It is a TON of work and energy. I am feeling like using my time and energy in a different way, pushing me more towards my personal writing goals. I'm wearing: anthropologie tunic, skinny jeans from Frame, moschino sunglasses from poshmark, consignment find vinta...

March started off with quite a lot of rain.

Image
Look at that gray, gray, gray sky! It almost doesn't even feel like the desert. It's been pouring buckets most of the afternoon, I decided to put on my heart rain gear and test out my recently DIY'd denim to replace my Revice heart jeans that are for sale since they run so small and are not practical to actually wear for the last few months. Might have been the stiffest jeans I'd ever owned too and the button fly didn't help! I'm wearing: lazy oaf hat, lazy oaf raincoat from poshmark, vintage leopard liz claiborne shirt, coach fanny pack from eBay, umbrella from target years ago, sven clogs from poshmark Just look at my weather app on my phone! Surprising, no? It's supposed to rain again a few other days this week too. I'm wearing : carmar jacket, thrifted turtleneck and belt, thrifted levi's skirt, anthro tights, gifted sven clogs shearling boots I didn't have the energy to do a proper photo shoot, but I LOVE how my outfit came out for a eye doc...

night out in Phoenix & what I wore.

Image
I wore : thrifted shirt, eBay coach rexy fanny pack, anthropologie pants, gifted sven clogs It was a night at the museum with an adults-only twist. There was a Silent Disco, glow-in-dark bingo, a board game lounge, a hula hoop contest, multiple bartenders and 2 fun downtown Food Trucks parked outside with pretty tasty snack-y menus that were priced pretty fairly for a dinner or late-night treat, in our opinon. I went with 2 friends and my brother and his partner. It was a nice group, and we had a really good time! I would do this kind of thing again for sure. It was my first time. My shiny clogs found a familiar friend in the shiny silver disco-like floors of the restrooms.  I tried the chicken parmesan stuffed 'crazy bread' and was pleasantly surprised that it was plenty of food for me and my friend to split between us.  I also bought cream puffs and cannolis to share between the 5 of us. They were fab. I think the cannolis were better but my brother was all about the cream p...

why so many shoes? a reflection.

Image
When looking at my closet, and bedroom in general (I also have shoes by my bed in a display) shoes are loud and clearly the biggest focal point. I have amassed an impressive (or crazy if you ask some people) collection of footwear. I only have two feet. There are only 7 days in the week and 31 days in the longer months so why have more than that amount in shoes, some people might ask.  Well, I can't say I have a perfect response or reason to why so many shoes.  I can say it used to be worse, I used to have nearly 100 back in NY when I had two closets and I was a frequent amazon deal/cheapie shoe lurker/orderer in college. I also often would buy discount shoes at Peter Harris outlet store near my campus. Even when I taught abroad for a year, I would go to the mall and window-shop shoes and bought at least 5 new pairs that year alone. Sandals. Flats. Two pairs of boots. My first pair of Melissa jelly shoes because they had my name, so I had to, right? Nope. None of those shoes h...

doggone dress.

Image
My husband recently picked out this super cute and probably Spring/Summer type dress that gave me a New Girl Zoey Deschanel vibe at Savers when thrifting recently. I love the fit! I decided to wear it for the first time for a Winter look by adding black and layers.  I also had a HUGE closet offer to likers sale recently on Poshmark and got rid of a TON of dead inventory that was stale and sitting for too long. I probably already said this, but my sweet spot with reselling would be having only 100 -200 active listings or less at any given time. Right now I am down to 330. I had 500 last year, and it was WAY too much!  I respect people that do it like that on such a big scale and even have storage lockers or warehouses but that's just not for me. Especially with everyone looking for a deal and insisting on free or discount shipping, it means even less money goes back in my pocket from a ton of work and effort for a very low payout (in my opinion, I don't resell super high end or...
