recent favorites.

This was my farmer's market outfit recently that I'm pretty proud of! I should've took a picture there, but I was too busy having fun and enjoying Axel living his best life. Plus, I discovered the best peach pie I'd ever had, which was more exciting that posting or taking lots of photos, in my opinion.  This was one of my favorite outfits all month! My husband said I looked straight out of a Miss Patina catalogue, which is a great compliment! Sadly, their clothes are not size-inclusive enough or built for curvy women so I don't wear them much anymore (I sold most of my collection), but this vintage 90s dress I thrifted this year has a strong English cottagecore energy that I thoroughly enjoyed styling up! I'm wearing : poshmark jacket, thrifted tee and dress, poshmark botkier bag, thrifted hat and sunglasses, calou stockholm boots I already raved about these boots enough, but seriously, they are SO GOOD! I really love them and hope to high heavens that they re-r...

double pacman.

Image
I tried wearing these boots again but they still are too tight on my legs, so sadly, I'm sending them off to a recent sale on Poshmark. Here's my outfit for entertaining some close friends we haven't seen in a long time from out of town. We had pizza and eggnog and had a really nice afternoon! I'm wearing : skirt for sale, thrifted tee and top from a swap, sold boots, secondhand bag, super old pacsun sunglasses.  What kind of pizza do you go for? I realized recently that I have an easier time digesting pizza wihtout red sauce so I usually go for cream sauce or pesto or 'grandma' style (no sauce)! xx

simple sweatshirt & jeans.

Image
Sometimes, I debate even capturing or sharing outfits this 'simple' but at the end of the day, it's still a valid 'look' and part of my style for more lowkey days or more low-energy dressing, when I just don't want to go 'all out.' Part of being a spoonie, a person with a chronic illness, is allowing myself space to be simple and very basic once in a while!  I just love these boots so much. I've been wearing them pretty much every week without fail. I'm wearing: thrifted sweatshirt and jeans, secondhand coach pacman bag, oui fresh sunglasses and calou stockholm 'bea' boots from Sweden!   Do you sometimes feel guilty or bad about dressing 'too simple' or 'too basic' sometimes? It's nice to just not have that pressure to 'walk the runway' once in a while in my opinion! xx

some recent outfit highlights and shop items.

Yes, I tried 2 faux leather skirts in one week secondhand and I hate both on me. I really did try. I felt like I was wearing a hefty bag. These faux leather pants are great though! I wore them to do errands and help my husband pick out new glasses. I tried to wear these super high no 6 clog boots twice and they are so snug on my legs that they gave me a rash, so I'm selling them. I guess my calves are muscular for the cut? It's dumb to not have any give or stretch to boots anyway, but the models are pretty slim, so I guess they aren't made for a variety of leg shapes. Bummer but at least I tried! I said hi to our neighborhood cat and got a cute shoe selfie and detail of my ripped jeans that I get teased about by some people but I love a good distressed denim! My Elton John concert look was a casual fringe jacket, top and jeans with clogs. Comfort was the goal. I could've gone full sequins like a lot of the audience members, but I still felt cool.  A lunch outfit in an a...

rainy valentine.

Image
It might not rain very often in the desert, but I do love an excuse to wear my raincoat! I'm wearing: poshmark lazy oaf raincoat, lazy oaf hat, secondhand shirt, jeans from anthro clearance, lazy oaf x dr martens from Mercari  Do you enjoy rainy days? xx

movie night: classic, the karate kid.

Image
I put this outfit together to give myself a bit of a retro look for a classic movie night with some friends. I also have been wanting to do mini-space buns in my hair for a while and it seemed like a good occasion to go for it again! I even put on makeup trying my new Urban Decay Prince palette. I would say it was an overall style success.  Aren't these Calou Stockholm clog boots ADORABLE? The silhouette is SO good and they are so dang comfortable too. I wouldn't typically choose navy but honestly, I'm really glad s what they had left at the studio in my size--they are so unique! (The color is from a couple years ago but you can get the same style boof ots in gray, black, or brown still!) I'm wearing : 90's denim vest from eBay, old sunglasses from pac sun, thrifted long sleeve shirt (orig anthro), coldwater creek skirt from poshmark, vintage thrifted heart buckle belt, calou stockholm clog boots, socks from Amazon  it's kind of funny how you can see the bird...
